Travis County Commissioners Court, Pct 4
✅LEFT UP TO US ENDORSES Susanna woody (D-TX)
Woody prioritizes improving community access to healthy food, comprehensive and affordable health care, and transportation. Once elected, she will participate in CAMPO and Capital Metro planning to negotiate increased transportation coverage and work to tackle East Travis County’s food desert challenges. During her time as a member of the Del Valle ISD board of trustees, the district has raised employee pay, increased health benefits, and implemented a nondiscrimination policy. Woody is committed to making sure that county and city planning no longer ignores residents of Southeast Travis County and will demand that all decisions affecting the community in Precinct 4 are equitable, transparent, and accountable.
Commissioner Margaret Gomez (D-TX)
Gomez has been the Travis County Commissioner for Precinct 4 since 1995, following 12 years as a Travis County constable. She has been endorsed by many public safety organizations, including the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT). In the endorsement, Charley Wilkinson, CLEAT’s director of public affairs, said Gomez “has been a true leader in the fight against crime and criminals, insisting that Travis County Deputies and Corrections Officers have the tools they need to arrest the criminals and keep them in jail where they belong.” Gomez was instrumental in expanding road access for Circuit of The Americas in Del Valle, voted against the 2014 light rail bond, and supported the construction of an affordable housing development (Del Valle 969 Apartments) despite opposition from fair housing advocates.
